There are so many different types of CBD products available in the market ranging from edibles to vape products. Many CBD infused cosmetics and hair care products are also available in the market. However, while shopping for CBD, you might have noticed a label indicating full spectrum or isolate CBD on the package. This is to notify the consumers about the form of CBD used in making the product. Among these products, the CBD isolates are comparatively more expensive than the rest because it will not have traces of elements present in the hemp plant. The complexity of its production p is also playing a role in the price of CBD isolates. The following are the basic steps involved in the making of CBD isolates.

CBD Extraction

As per the law, the manufacturers can only use the hemp plant to extract CBD. Even if the cannabis plant is an abundant source of CBD, it is illegal to use the same for making CBD because it contains a high concentration of THC. CBD can be extracted from the hemp plant with the help of so many different techniques. However, most of the CBD isolate manufacturers are using the CO2 extraction method to separate CBD from the hemp plant. This is because it will give the producers a purer form of CBD compared to other techniques.

Purification

It is one of the steps that make CBD isolate different from the rest of the CBD products. After obtaining the raw CBD extract, the manufacturers will pass the same through different purification procedures to remove all other elements present in it. Distillation and winterization are some of the common methods used for purifying CBD extract. It is a time-consuming procedure and after this step, the manufacturers will get a solution that is more than 90 percent CBD.

Crystallization

It is the process of converting a liquid into its solid form. This procedure is used on the purified CBD extract to remove the remaining plant compounds. After applying this step, the manufacturers will get an odorless and flavorless white crystal of CBD. Some manufacturers will sell the CBD in crystal form while others will convert it into powder for the convenient usage of buyers.

All these procedures used in making the CBD isolate are expensive and time-consuming. For making other forms of CBD like full-spectrum CBD, the manufacturers will have to apply only the first two steps.
